:(

I got word yesterday through the Colorado State Alumni newsletter that one of my Delta Omicron sisters died recently. Jen was just a few months older than me. She wasn't one of my closest friends, but she was in my pledge class, and we also graduated together. First person that I knew from CSU (aside from faculty) that died- not counting a classmate who died of cystic fibrosis my junior year.

I feel pretty awful right now.

That's so sad. It doesn't matter the depth of your connection, just that one was there, and you shared significant times together. The death of someone like that comes as a real shock. It never seems right when people we knew when they were young go. I think somehow we expect them to stay there, forever young, in our minds.

Yeah. Especially when you haven't seen that person in ages, you think of them as 23 forever.
