Another day, another mass shooting.

This time at a community college in Oregon. 13 dead (so far), 20 injured. Will it never end? Of course not- nothing changed after 20 kids were murdered at Sandy Hook. Why should it change after a college campus shooting?

The only good news today is the Hurricane Joaquin may miss me. Still going to get a fuckton of rain, but at least there won't be killer winds.

I just watched Obama's press conference on this, and I could feel his fury coming through the TV. This is one of those things that we in other countries cannot understand about America. What will it take? And you just know that the mentality is such that the more these happen, the more the NRA will whip up the argument that people need guns because these shootings happen - missing the point by several light years.

I feel so sorry for these poor people in Oregon. I work at a university campus, and it is so awful to think of young students and the people who are trying to help them find their way in life being subjected to this horror.

I've never seen the President so enraged. I will never understand why we let things get so out of control. Australia pretty much banned guns after the Port Arthur massacre. Britain put tighter restrictions on guns after Dunblane. But Americans love their fucking guns too much. Don't want their "freedoms" taken away, who cares if a roomful of six year olds or college students or people attending Bible study get mowed down. I'm sick of it.
