Movie notes...

Saw Dreamgirls last night. One of the best movies of the year! I hope Jennifer Hudson wins the supporting actress Oscar! She actually lost on American Idol?  Well, she showed 'em all, just like Effie in the movie! The whole cast was great. Eddie Murphy was a big surprise, and I won't be unhappy if he walks away with an Oscar, too. The music was great, the costumes were fun, and I left the theater with a smile on my face. I've got the soundtrack on the way from amazon...

Other movie notes...I will have to skip Blood and Chocolate. The reviews were mediocre, but that's not the problem. THEY CHANGED THE ENDING OF THE BOOK!!! They totally missed the point of the novel- the werewolf girl decides that she loves her people, and that the human boy could never love her. In the film, she and meat-boy live happily ever after.  I hate Hollywood. The reviewers were really nasty to Bryan Dick. Some made fun of his name any chance they got ("Rafe is played by the aptly named Bryan Dick" "Dick is one and nothing else"). That is just mean. Some liked his performance, though. Though one reviewer described his big confrontation with Hugh Dancy (another cutie) as a battle between the two girliest men who ever bought hair pommade.  Bryan does have beautiful hair... Will be worth a rental, though, just 'cause Bryan takes his shirt off a few times...   (unfortunately, he's dead in one of those scenes...)
