Oh, the pain.

I was up most of the night. I have had a headache since about 10 p.m.! It's allergy related. I took a Claritin, and it's starting to go away.

I'm cooking dinner for my sister and her family tonight- on the menu: Butter Chicken. I found a jar of the sauce (a mild and sweet curry made with butter and cream) that is just as good as, if not better than, the local Indian restaurants! It's terribly fattening, though (butter and cream!), so it's a rare treat. Served with basmati rice and naan (Indian flat bread). Yum, yum, yum.

Meme time!

Ten First Lines (or Paragraphs) from Ten Favourite Books

Behind the cut.
Guess which books they're from! A couple are obvious, a couple obscure.

1. Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.

2. It is a truth universally acknowleged that a single man of good fortune must be in want of a wife.

3. The music room in the Governor's House at Port Mahon, a tall, handsome, pillared octagon, was filled with the triumphant first movement of Locatelli's C major quartet.

4. London. Michaelmas Term lately over, and the Lord Chancellor sitting in Lincoln's Inn Hall.

5. Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of  the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun.- Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, guessed by punishyourma.

6. This book is largely concered with Hobbits, and from its pages a reader may discover much of their character and a little of their history.

7. I first heard of Ántonia on what seemed to me an interminable journey across the great midland plains of North America. - My Ántonia by Willa Cather. Guessed by La Bunny!

8. Brother Francis Gerard of Utah might never have discovered the blessed documents, had it not been for the pilgrim with girded loins who had appeared during that young novice's Lenten fast in the desert .

9. There was no possibility of taking a walk that day. We had been wandering, indeed, in the leafless shrubbery an hour in the morning; but since dinner (Mrs. Reed, when there was no company, dined early) the cold winter wind had brought with it clouds so sombre, and a rain so penetrating, that further out-door exercise was now out of the question.

10. In Fort Repose, a river town in Central Florida, it was said that sending a message by Western Union was the same as broadcasting it over the combined networks.

Ah, My Antonia. I read that on a trip to Missouri. Loved the book but fucking hated Missouri.
