Okay, that was an hour and a half...

...of my life that I won't get back. I just watched this bizarre indie film called Morvern Callar, which stars the usually great Samantha Morton. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0300214/ I don't know what the hell it was about!!! I actually turned it off two thirds of the way through because I didn't care. That's something I rarely do. Maybe it would have helped if I'd read the novel it was based on first, but I don't know...

And the fangirl in me realized something quite sad- this was Bryan Dick's film debut. And he was pretty awkward. Almost bad, even. It looked like his scene was unscripted.

Trek BBS meet up tomorrow! Yay!

I thought that movie was one of the most boring, pretentious films I have ever seen. Truly awful, and not in the "so bad it's entertaining" sense. Samantha Morton looked like she was sleepwalking through the whole thing. I didn't care about the characters, what they were going through, what happened to them...anything. It was probably made by some pillock who equates slow and boring with deep and profound. Yawn.

Just surfing through, and I wanted to say, YES, the film of "Morvern Callar" truly is rubbish!

Which is a shame, as the novel (by Alan Warner) is extraordinary.

I've looked for that book. My library doesn't have it.
