Regarding Mom's Obama bumper sticker...

It wasn't ripped from her car at work. It happened in the church parking lot during choir practice. Nice, someone at my church thought it was okay to tear off an Obama bumper sticker because they don't agree. Like I said earlier, I'm sick to death of this election.

Mom's brand new Obama/Biden sticker should arrive soon, as will the yard sign. She already has a nice shiny Mark Warner for Senate sticker and sign displayed...

That's awful. I mean, no one should go around touching anyone's car for any reason at all. It's like messing with someone's purse. It just isn't DONE. (Except for the time someone in college anonymously left a box of cookies on my car while I was in choir practice at church. I never did find out who they were from... Someone in a certain guys' hall, but I don't know exactly who. True, there were a couple of guys from that hall who were also in my church choir, but their movements seemed to be accounted for. But who else knew I would be there, and what my car looked like...?)

I'm glad no one has taken my Aubrey-Maturin '08 sticker!

Well, that's not a very Christian attitude.

I think it's time to mention it to the pastor. *That* should be something interesting to talk about in church. Respecting people's property.

*sigh* Why can't people respect that people have opinions other than their own?

If the pastor mentioned it, there would be hell to pay. He is pretty darned liberal, and there are a few insanely right wing people in the congregation.

Case in point- today he made a slight joke about our organ, which has been removed pending repairs. He said, "Contrary to rumors, I have not sold the organ on eBay." Obviously, he was kidding about the rumor about Palin's plane, not the VP candidate herself. Some people bitched about it in Sunday School- "He's attacking that wonderful Sarah Palin!" One of the most right wing women I know almost started yelling at my sister between services. No mention of the wonderful sermon and music. It's all "Liberal crap this, Republican awesome that" with her, why does she bother coming to church anymore?

Typical. Around here during the last election, people were slashing tires of those who had the "wrong" bumper stickers, even trying to crash into them when they were moving.

People who had the "wrong" campaign signs in their yards got rocks thrown through their windows or nasty things spray-painted on the front of their homes.

This is why I don't have any bumper stickers or campaign signs up. At least not for "real" people. I go with Londo/G'Kar and Zathras stuff. Confuses people, and my tires stay inflated.

In 2005 my Tim Kaine for Governor sign was ripped out of the yard by some twat. Didn't work. Kaine won. :p
