A literal pain in the neck.

Just got back from the doctor. The good news is my cold/flu is all gone, no infection of any kind in my ears. However, I have pulled a muscle where the neck and head meet. Pulled it rather badly, actually. Doc had me turning my head this way and that, and poked a bit- "DOES THIS HURT?" Hell yes, it hurt! Glad I know it wasn't anything more serious. She gave me a painkiller and a muscle relaxant. I've taken some already, and though the pain is still there, I'm feeling a bit loopy. After Countdown, I'm going to bed!

I'm relieved that it wasn't anything worse. Mom was like, "That's it?!" Yeah, easy for her to say! It's not like it's going to heal overnight.

This kills my weekend plans, though. Mom and I were going to take Katie for her birthday shopping spree at Potomac Mills tomorrow, and we were also planning to go see Julie and Julia. Plus, I have a free birthday hamburger coupon for Red Robin that expires Sunday- I want to use it! If my painkillers kick in soon, maybe the weekend can be salvaged. I don't want to push it, though.

I can't turn my head without pain, so I really can't do much more than sit up and read. Laughing hurts, too. At least I'm not coughing and sneezing anymore!

Poor thing! How did you pull the muscle? From coughing too much?

Does Potomac Mills still have the enormous round sign that's visible from the interstate? I got stuck in a nighttime traffic jam near there once, and we could see that round sign from quite a distance, and for some reason my friend and I joked that it was the Eye of Sauron and he was reduced to doing traffic reports. And now we call it the Eye of Sauron Shopping Center.

1- that's my theory. I must have done it in the middle of the night and twisted my neck. Scary, isn't it?

2- Oh, yes, the sign is still there. Potomac Mills is still the number one tourist destination in Virginia, even more than Colonial Williamsburg. *lol*

Eye of Sauron Shopping Center- hee. I have to remember that one. When my nephew was little, he called it Atomic Mills.

1 - Crazy! Or maybe you were sleeping on it funny?

2 - Is that really true??? Well, it IS pretty awesome. It's got Ikea and H&M. Actually, just one of those would be enough to make it pretty awesome, and Ikea alone to make it REALLY awesome.

Atomic Mills, cute!

It sure is true. *lol* I'm actually going tomorrow. There's also a Neiman Marcus outlet, which is fun. Never been to the H&M, but I heard that Jimmy Choo is designing a line of moderately priced shoes for them- so I'll check them out soon.
