Lost: The Candidate

HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP!

Spoilers beneath the cut...

Damn it. I haven't cried at a Lost episode since Charlie died. :( Sayid, Frank, Sun AND Jin? God damn it!

Kate got shot! YES! But she survives. DAMN! (I really don't like Kate!)

"There is no Sayid". Jesus, Jack, nice way of putting it. At least no one got a chance to say "You've got some Sayid on you".

Watching Hurley cry...that really got me started. Then Kate and Jack joined in.

Nice going, Sawyer...okay, he didn't know what would happen...but still!

So now we know what MIB/Locke wants...all the Lostie "candidates" have to be dead before he can leave.

Sayid: BIG DAMN HERO. I guess there was still good in him after all.

Sideways!Locke caused the accident that paralyzed him and left his dad a vegetable...and feels so guilty about it he won't let Jack fix him.

Sun and Jin in the end replaced Des and Penny as my favorite Lost couple. Damn it. :( :( :( :(

I think I was just too numb and disbelieving to take it all in, like "Ok, they'll be dead in THIS reality, but they'll be alive in the other reality, and somehow Jack will figure a way to fix everybody again." When Kate got shot I thought it was a mortal shot to the heart, so that just set my mind in a cycle of disbelief. Like "I KNOW they're not really going to have Kate die. But that shot right there has pretty much killed her. So this can't be the real reality the show is going to stick with."

I don't know, I wanted to feel sad but I just felt numb and skeptical. I guess I'm too used to them playing weird mind tricks on us, so now I'm not ready to believe it when they show us what's real.

It still feels like Jack is going to do something - move the island or whatever he has to do - and it will reset the clock, and Juliette and everybody will be alive again.

It was Sun and Jin that I screamed about. I was sure she would tell him...But you have a daughter to think about...now they've left that child orphaned.

And Claire...if Locke plans to kill them all, he'll get around to her eventually.

Also, I couldn't make out what Sayid told Jack just before he grabbed the bomb and ran. He told him to find something or someone, I think...who, or what? Did you hear it?

Don't worry, we couldn't hear him the first time. We have the luxury of rewinding it, and it was hard to make out the first time we rewound it!

Sayid said, basically, that there's a well on the main island, about a 1/2 mile from the camp they came from, and that Jack would find Desmond there. Locke wanted Desmond dead, but, Sayid didn't kill him, so Desmond is obviously important. Go get him.

I'd forgotten all about Desmond! So that makes him, Kate, Hurly, Jack, and Claire left...anyone have a guess who will end up taking Jacob's place?

I think it'll be Jack, myself

Sawyers is with Jack and Kate's group, too. Don't forget that Ben, Richard, and Miles are still alive, too.

If someone is going to replace Jacob, I think it'll be Jack, too. But...I'm not convinced anyone is replacing Jacob. Jacob said last season that 'it only ends once'. I bet you that someone (Jack?) will defeat Man In Black, and it will be over. And there won't be any reason to replace Jacob. I think the candidate is a candidate to defeat Man in Black - not replace Jacob.

I haven't cried since Charlie died, either, but I was tearing up at Jin/Sun. I didn't realize I cared as much as I did for that couple. It was truly sad.
